CCHB offers the following ensembles:

 

Beginning Band

3:30 PM – 4:20 PM
For students ages 9–19 who are new to playing a wind instrument, new to music, or learning a new instrument.

 

Concert Band

2:30 PM – 3:20 PM
For students with at least one year of experience on their instrument with CCHB.  Students entering from another program should contact info@cchbands.com for proper ensemble placement.

 

Wind Ensemble

4:30 PM – 5:20 PM
For advanced students who are ready for a higher level of musicianship. Audition required and subject to director approval.

 

Jazz Band

5:30 PM – 6:20 PM
For Concert Band and Wind Ensemble students who want to participate in jazz, improvisation, and big band music. Minor exceptions exist for rhythm section. Audition required and subject to director approval.

Concert Choir

3:30 PM – 4:20 PM
Open to students ages 12–19 who are proficient in reading music. Middle school students must be consecutively enrolled in a band ensemble. Audition/vocal assessment may be required and subject to director approval.

Eligibility Requirements

 

To participate in CCHB:

• Students must be homeschooled according to the homeschool laws of the State of North Carolina.

• Students must be at least 9 years old to begin band.

• Concert Choir students must be at least 12 years old and able to read music.

• Jazz Band students must be enrolled in Concert Band or Wind Ensemble and in good standing.

• Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Concert Choir require an audition, vocal assessment, or director approval.

Tuition and Fees
 

First Band: $50 per month / $450 per year
Each Additional Band: $40 per month / $360 per year

 

Jazz or Choir, if not enrolled in another band: $50 per month / $450 per year
Jazz or Choir, if enrolled in another band: $30 per month / $270 per year​

 

A one-time $35 registration fee is required for new band families.

 

CCHB has a family tuition cap of $175 per month.

​

 

​Payment Information

 

After a student/family completes the online registration form, the CCHB Treasurer will send an invoice for the first month’s tuition.

​

Invoices may be paid in one of the following ways:

Online Payment

Families may pay online using the payment link included on the invoice.

​

Check Payment

Checks may be brought to band and placed in the Band Payment Dropbox, which will be located on the table in the rehearsal room in the main building during rehearsals.

​

Recurring Monthly Payments

Families who would like to set up automatic monthly payments may contact the Treasurer to request recurring payments. Once recurring payments are set up, monthly invoices will be paid automatically.

​

Payments are due by the 10th of each month.  Families may pay tuition in full for the year, by semester, or monthly.

​

Each student is responsible for bringing:

​

• Their own instrument

• Instrument-specific supplies, such as reeds, valve oil, harnesses, etc.

• Music Stand

  • A sturdy black music stand with a solid back and a desk size of approximately 20" x 13.5". The Peak SMS-20 is the preferred brand. Please do not purchase open wire stands.

• The required method book for their ensemble

• A pencil

• A respectful attitude

• A willingness to learn, practice, and participate

 

CCHB has a limited number of instruments available for student use. Instrument loans are not guaranteed and are based on availability. Families who are interested in borrowing an instrument should contact CCHB before purchasing or renting an instrument.

Before registration is complete, families will need to complete or review the following:

Please complete the online registration form first. Then print and complete the Medical Release Form and Handbook Agreement Form. These forms should be brought to CCHB Orientation.

Auditions are required for:

Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band audition recordings should include the student’s name, grade, and instrument.
